With diverse influences ranging from Gavin DeGraw and Bruce Springsteen to Ed Sheeran and Ben Folds, the multi-talented 21-year-old singer/songwriter, Luke Underhill, is preparing to make his mark in the format. The Chicago area performer’s emotional renditions of his songs have already earned him comparisons to a young John Mayer – while some more upbeat arrangements inspire exciting flashes of early Bryan Adams. After beginning 2017 in the studio with Mikal Blue (Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz), the young talent is ready to take his growing fan base deeper into the heart of his music with the upcoming Revolver Recordings EP, The Left Side. The new release follows two self-released projects in 2015, “Atlas” and “Atlas Unplugged,” along with a self-produced single in 2016, “Too Good for Me.” The future proves to be bright for this budding star and he prepares for the August 4th release of his upcoming Revolver Recordings EP, The Left Side. The lead off track, “I’ll Be Waiting,” is available now on iTunes and all digital streaming services.
October 2017 - Castle Black
Castle Black is a Brooklyn-based rock trio, bringing a powerful and thunderous sound, full of hard-hitting jams, never sacrificing the hook. Described as drawing from punk, post-punk, grunge, alternative and new wave, Castle Black refuses to be pinned down to a genre. Each song careens through an almost stream of consciousness depiction of life stories, social anthems and raw emotions. Gritty female vocals, delicate back-up adornments, roaring drums, canny bass and guitar-forward hooks collide, staying in your head for days on end.
They have been described as “the kind of band you want to catch on the way up” (New York Music Daily), whose “sound is an inventive and stimulating mixture of genres,” making “Castle Black’s style one of a kind.” (Indie Rock Café) Castle Black is “capturing the NY sound with a subdued, crunchy Garage-band sound with a slight L-7-esque edge to their own concoction.” (Musically Fresh)
Their first EP, Find You There, was released in August 2015, with a follow-up single, Dark Light: A Plague Revisited, released in May 2016. Their second EP, Losing Forever, as well as their video for Dark Light, was released in October 2016. A limited-edition lathe-cut record for their single Blind Curtain was released in April 2017, on Leesta Vall Sound Recordings. Their third studio EP, Trapped Under All You Know, will be released on August 18th, 2017, to be followed by several music videos. "Seeing in Blue" off of the EP premiered on The Big Takeover, followed by a full EP premiere on AXS.
November 2017 - Jump for neon

William Gray (AKA Jump For Neon) was a founding member of The Smokestacks, who broke up in 2008. Despite national tours, BBC live sessions, radio airplay, 2 single releases and major label interest, sadly the band never officially released an album.
A prolific songwriter, Gray had grown increasingly frustrated at waiting so long to put an album out. He decided to go the independent route and May 2009 saw the speedy release of his first solo outing 'None of the Above'.
Reaction to the album was extremely positive with reviewers drawing favourable comparisons with respected and renowned songwriters, including Elliott Smith, Bon Iver, Badly Drawn Boy and Damon Albarn.
In addition to BBC Radio requesting Gray give an interview and perform a live session, None Of The Above was also voted one of Vibrations Magazine's top albums of 2010.
Gray repeated the trick with second album 'Vertical Wealth', garnering increasing attention throughout 2011. Listed again as one of Vibrations Magazine's favourite albums of the year. BBC and US college radio airtime was secured as well as the LP eliciting praise from music critics.
2012's release of 'Casual Observer' again resulted in repeated plays on BBC Radio and yet another Vibrations Magazine thumbs up in their albums of the year countdown.
After his move to Hangzhou, China, the album 'Wensan Rd' was released at the end of 2013 winning new plaudits within the local music scene and high praise from That's China magazine, the following year seeing Gray become a regular solo performer in and around his new home city.
In 2015 Gray joined the roster of artists at Medic Independent Records (http://www.lllmediclll.com/) with the Hangzhou label organizing well-received solo acoustic shows in different provinces of China. 2015 also included the release of EP 'Tish' to a positive response in both the UK and China, with more BBC airplay and the clocking up of well over 14000 plays on popular Chinese music site Xiami. The year culminated in a Hangzhou show alongside internationally lauded acoustic guitar virtuoso Jon Gomm in December.
2016 proved another busy year with the release of the album 'Flounce' on March 17th, resulting in plays on BBC Wales and BBC 6 Music whilst Fresh On The Net made the song 'Child's Play' one of their 'Fresh Faves', this the first time Gray had submitted a song to the highly regarded music blog. The EP 'Seine' was then released on October 1st of the same year. A very different creature to 'Flounce', nevertheless, the track 'There', taken from this aforementioned EP, was also picked as a 'Fresh Fave', making it two out of two successful submissions for the artist.
2017 has seen Gray adopt a lower profile, playing as a backing musician for the John Carroll 'Aviation' album release show whilst also busying himself with other projects, one of them being 'Jump For Neon', the eponymous debut set for a November 5th release.
